About DSOC Life
Officially known as Don't Succumb. OverCome. Life., DSOC (pronounced |dee-saak|) Life is a motivational and educational lifestyle brand offering the DSOC Life Visual Reminders and Mental Sparks (Coming Soon!). Based out of South Carolina, DSOC Life is owned by Cognitive Behavioral Insights, LLC, founded by Melly D., a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina and Oregon and a Virtual Personal Consultant, with 15+ years of experience working in the mental health field, 20+ years experience working in education, and with over 10,000 virtual client sessions completed worldwide.
The initial concept for DSOC Life came after a client asked Melly for something to help him remember their work together and to help him not get swept up in his emotions during challenging times after their therapy sessions ended. Melly didn’t have an easy answer for such a request, but he understood where the client was coming from and it made him think about the power of visuals and how catchy sayings can have huge impacts on one’s thoughts and moods. After much time and thought, the phrase “Don’t Succumb. OverCome. - D.S.O.C.” came to him and it stuck. The phrase acknowledges the challenges life can throw your way and it also acknowledges that you have what it takes to overcome it. Recognizing the phrase’s wider applications beyond therapy, Melly used his creativity and former business education teacher/graphic design skills to create a unique look for the phrase, which developed into the unique brand, focusing on Visual Reminders with the motivational phrase, “Don’t Succumb. OverCome.” in 2019.
Since 2019, the DSOC Life Visual Reminders have evolved into posters, framed posters, canvases, fabric wall flags, ceramic mugs, plastic tumblers, and tiny teddies (teddy bears). The DSOC Life Mental Sparks are part of this evolution and are a new introduction to the DSOC Life offerings based on Melly’s recent experiences as a virtual therapist and personal consultant to clients all over the world.
DSOC Life products fit into any home, office, and social space with an upbeat, positive vibe and versatile styles. The DSOC Life Visual Reminders and Mental Sparks aim to inspire you to pursue your goals and get you to "Do Sum Things!” DSOC Life defines "Sum Things" as the small, easy actions you can take now that add up over time to move you toward your goals, deepen self-understanding, and help you discover what you need — and don’t need — to live more authentically.
Try giving your goals the gift of life and watch how the process can change your life. Sometimes, a little Reminder (Visual), and a Spark (Mental), is all that's needed to get you lit. “Don’t Succumb. OverCome. Life.”
Best wishes.

Post it alone or frame it on your own. Either way, the DSOC Posters will get you inspired and they will look good doing it! This poster displays the DSOC The Poem design in black lettering against a white/silver background and printed with a matte finish.
This poem was written by the DSOC Founder/Creator/Designer, Melly D., embodying the motivational vision and mission of DSOC Life.DSOC The Poem reads:
“Make moves towards your goals, with the golden rule as your guide.
Know, whenever something is due to you, you will receive it in due time.
Make the best of everyday, even when things don’t sway your way and never forget, what goes around comes around, on any given day.
Always try to keep your cool and try to not act-a-fool.
However, if you encounter a fool, turn them into a tool, to keep your emotions in check and disengage with new rules.
When you take things too far, acknowledgement can help heal scars.
Don’t Succumb. OverCome. And your success won’t be far.
Remember to do sum things in order to achieve some things, because you can’t expect anything, if you haven’t done sum things.
Sum things are the little things that add up to the bigger things.
Adopt a DSOC mindset and cultivate your dreams, and that simply means, go Do Sum Things!”
